Back by popular demand, our medium-light power spinning rod is ideal for targeting panfish, crappie and perch. The 36MLS is the longest and lightest glass composite rod on the market. Perfect for dead sticking, finesse jigging or hookset devices this rod provides the sensitivity to feel the fight when targeting smaller fish, while providing enough backbone for serious hooksets in deeper water.

Recommended Lure Weights: 1/16 to 1/4 oz.
Recommended Line Weights: 2 to 8 lbs
Recommended Fish Weights: less than 5 lbs

  • Crafted from our proprietary IX glass composite blanks purpose-built for ice anglers. We find the lock in point on each blank to reduce blank torque when setting the hook.
  • New lightweight, durable stainless steel frames and rings provide the utmost strength on the ice. Thinner double swaged insert rings provide a larger guide opening to eliminate friction and reduce ice-ups on the coldest days.
  • Upgraded guide train spacing offers improved weight distribution when under load.
  • Custom made reel seats with high grade graphite/nylon construction and stainless steel hoods cushioned hoods.
  • Thicker AAA cork handles designed for ice fishing with Haat logo etched into the handle and foregrip.

Absolutely love my Haat rods!

Last season I purchased the 40” med heavy spin rod and absolutely loved it for fishing for macs at Flaming Gorge so I decided to purchase the 36” med light spin rod. I did not lose one fish with the Haat rods but did with my jaw jacker 40” med heavy rod. The way these rods handled the head shakes and the death rolls at the hole was amazing! They handled 30” Burbot with ease! Sure wish I could afford another one!

Best rod on the market in its class

This is my go to walleye/stocked trout rod. Sensitive enough for a finicky trout bite and strong enough in the spine to handle big walleye. The long handles are comfortable and there made so, switching reels takes no time at all (no taping reels on). I also love these on my jawjackers, there’s enough recoil to set hooks without damaging trout mouths for catch and release fishing. I hope they never stop selling these, I have over 30 rods in the same weight class and these 36” ML are my all time favourite rods. I own 3.

Action too soft

I have trout haat rods and love them. I bought this not realizing how soft the action was for walleye. I ended up but the black beauty for the wife and she loves it.

These are excellent rods to use for stock trout and Kokanee salmon through the ice. It’s important that the thermal iron has those side bars… I love it!!
